Homework builds on the lesson’s learning and develops students’ independent study skills. Pupils are set up to 3 subjects every evening according to their homework timetable. In Key Stage 3 we expect students to complete one hour of homework each evening. This increases to up to 2 hours each evening in Key Stage 4 especially at GCSE level. Online learning activities and revision are also set for students particularly for examination courses. See our online learning page.
We ask parents to check that their child has completed their homework each day. It is important for parents to support their child with homework but to allow their child to make mistakes so that teachers can see where they need additional support and teaching.
