↑ Return to Pupils

Pupils are fitted with a radio hearing aid system to maximise their listening skills in the classroom. They are provided with receivers and audio input shoes. Each classroom has a dedicated transmitter. Hearing aids, cochlear implants and radio aid systems are checked on a daily basis by the form tutor. Batteries are supplied to pupils in an emergency, but pupils are encouraged to bring spare batteries to school.

Teaching assistants are responsible for managing the radio aid system when pupils go into lessons in the adjoining school.  A number of classrooms are fitted with sound field systems to support the listening environment.
