A team of 9 students from Knightsfield School, including one from Monks Walk, attended the U19 National Deaf Swimming Finals 2018 at the London Aquatics Centre, formerly the Olympic pool, on Tuesday 30th January. Entries were from all over the country from special schools and Hearing Impairment Units.
The team consisted of students from Year 7 through to Year 11.
The students were very excited and honoured to be able to swim at such a fantastic venue and stood up to the challenge well. In our first appearance we achieved the bronze medal. We were well supported by the students’ parents, families and our trustees.
Well done everyone on such an awesome achievement.
We are now looking forward to the regional Boccia finals next week and other opportunities in the future, especially a return to the swimming event next year.
