At Knightsfield, we specialise in teaching hearing impaired students who are developing their language skills through the auditory/oral mode. We encourage students to improve their communication by consistent use of their speaking and listening skills.
As part of our Specialist Sensory Status we teach specific listening programmes and provide individual listening profiles to enable our students to achieve higher standards in literacy, numeracy and personal social development.
Development of good listening skills is dependent on having high quality auditory input and it is essential that hearing aid systems are always working effectively. We encourage and train students in the independent care of their own hearing aid equipment.
